The Department of City Planning is presenting a series of Planning 101 training sessions during the month of May! The next meeting, taking place on Monday, May 20, 2019 will be in West Los Angeles at the Henry Medina Parking Enforcement Center.
The topic of this series is Planning for the Environment. Participants will learn about the role the City and its residents have in planning for the environment and the regulations that guide environmental analysis, including the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). Seven Planning 101 training sessions and one online webinar are planned for May 2019. The training includes an educational presentation, an interactive scenario activity, and a question and answer period. Please RSVP at:

In February 2019, the Westside Community Plans team participated in a series of Neighborhood Council Walking tours.
These walking tours, planned and conducted by the Neighborhood Council representatives, provided on-the-ground perspectives of issues and opportunities in the four community plan areas.
Tour attendees highlighted examples of areas and development that should be emulated, enhanced, preserved and/or improved. A total of 8 walking tours were completed throughout the four community plan areas. Below, is a list of the Neighborhood Councils that participated:
The Venice Local Coastal Program team will be hosting Pop Up Office Hours on Thursday, April 18, 2019 to discuss all things related to the Venice Local Coastal Program. City planners from the Venice Community Plan Update team will also be present to answer questions related to the community plan update process.
The first part of the day will be by appointment only. Scheduled appointments will be offered on a first come, first serve basis between the hours of 10:00am-3:00pm.
The latter part of the day will be drop in office hours from 4:00pm-6:00pm. No appointment is required to attend the office hours portion of the day.
